31st GiroSardegna

Last year’s GiroSardegna, according to participants, was “PERFECT,” and all the comments were positive about the organizational choices, the location, and the hotels!

If we want to improve, we absolutely must return to Alghero because, cycling-wise, that area is the most complete in Sardinia for a cycling event; there are flatlands, long and challenging climbs, excellent roads with little traffic, but, above all, there are splendid coastal roads (the road to Bosa, uniquely beautiful, is amazing for cycling—forty kilometers without a single intersection!) and then… there’s Alghero, a “real” city, rich in history and traditions, which has become a major tourist destination thanks to its beaches, its sea, and its cultural life!

From a fantastic thirtieth anniversary, we inherit a high base from which to build, improving ourselves and allowing everyone, truly everyone, to have fun cycling!

And that’s why in Alghero we’ll be offering “our” menu again, which is by now well known!

There will be:

• “GiroSardegna-Classic”: scheduled for April 25th to 30th, this is our road event that has maintained its structure for many years, with 6 stages and two routes (GranGiro and MedioGiro). Registration for the Classic means that, as usual, every day:
  • the first three Men and the first three Women across the finish line on the two race routes receive awards
  • the leaders of the overall rankings wear the Yellow Jersey (GranGiro) and the Pink Jersey (MedioGiro); there will be a White Jersey (for the youngest cyclist) and a Black Jersey (for the last cyclist to cross the finish line)
  • at the end of the six stages, all age categories on both routes receive awards
• “GiroSardegna-Gravel”’: the race on May 1st is the FCI Italian Gravel Championship, a single event, and will award the Tricolore Jersey to professionals (Men and Women) and to amateurs (all age categories established by the FCI). You can also register for this stage ONLY.
• “GiroSardegna-Gold”: this is the super-event that, from April 25th to May 1st, groups together the times achieved in the Gravel and in the Classic; those who choose it know that they compete in the rankings/awards of both the Classic and the Gravel, but also that on May 1st there will be the final Gold Jersey for the first in all age categories and an additional awards ceremony

But in 2027 even the non-competitive cycling of the “Tour” will receive special attention, given the beauty of the cycle-tourism rides that are scheduled and that can be done:

• “Muscular” – setting off in a group on a muscle bike for short, relaxing rides
• “E-Bike” – for those who, with an assisted bike, want/can go further

… but, however you ride, the “Tour” always maintains its philosophy of living in complete freedom, without competing, fully experiencing a unique and splendid territory.

But it’s in terms of hotel accommodations that 2027 will be an absolute benchmark: we have selected two of the BEST HOTELS in Alghero so that everyone can customize their stay, choosing from alternatives of various types and prices, but both “superior”!

The “Center” of the cycling week is the Carlos V°, a 5-star hotel in the center of Alghero; to this, we have added the Corte Rosada, a high-quality 4-star hotel from the international Melià chain, located directly on the beach within the Baia di Conte protected area: the stages start and finish near these locations.

From a cycling perspective, having noted the positive response last year, we have confirmed the separate departures for men and women and for young and not-so-young riders.

It only remains to extend a warm invitation to companions: never as in Alghero will they be able to enjoy a real holiday, because the chosen area is perfect for a stay that offers many, many things to do and see.

In short, once again I have to repeat that the GiroSardegna is an event not to be missed!
