4th Stage MedioGiro

… to Olbia

The first climb of Ottiolu, short but steep, will certainly create small groups that will then tackle the flat SS125; then the presence of a couple of climbs, even if not long and not demanding, will tend to distance the small groups even more: it is a stage suitable for those who want to attempt escapes from afar, but the undertaking will be difficult given that there are no great altimetric difficulties.

THE ROUTE: Already on the first climb some will probably try to break away but then there is the long stretch that leads to Murta Maria where the group can rejoin. The first real opportunity to try to gain an advantage is the short climb that leads to the refreshment point (km 40) after which there is a second longer one before entering the town of Padru where the route division is located (km 48).

– The MedioGiro turns left and heads back towards the sea with a very fast descent that takes you back to the SS125 where you retrace the roundabouts of San Teodoro in reverse and then go to the finish line located in front of the main hotel.

– The GranGiro goes to do, on the outward/return route (be careful not to cut the curves when going down!) the climb that leads to the Sos Pantamos spring where there is a water point (km 57). Once back in Padru, the cyclists return to the common route, turning right and returning towards the sea with a very fast descent that takes them back to the SS125 where they retrace the roundabouts of San Teodoro in reverse to finally reach the finish line in front of the main hotel.
