The stage climbs the limestone balcony of Monte Albo, a true masterpiece of nature, with spectacular views of the north-east coast and the interior of the island. It is a beautiful route, decidedly varied, which includes the panoramic climb of S. Anna followed by the steep descent that leads to cross the few houses of Torpè and Posada and the hills surrounding Budoni to finally end in front of the main hotel of the GiroSardegna.
THE ROUTE: after the Start, you cross at a controlled speed the town of Budoni outside of which the race starts on the SS125, you pass the town of Posada to go and cross the town of Siniscola from where the long panoramic climb begins that leads to the Sant’Anna crossroads (the gradients are always in single digits!) where there is the Punto Acqua (km 31). You then begin to descend, first going towards Lodè for a few kilometers before turning right and tackling the steep descent with hairpin bends that leads to the valley of the Posada River. You cross the town of Torpè and Posada and after crossing the Posada River you enter the San Paulo municipal road where the Ristoro is located (km 60). The route then meets the SP24 which takes you over the Talavà hill before descending to go to the finish line located in front of the hotel.
