The GiroSardegna tradition of having a short final stage but with an uphill finish continues: it is a last chance given to climbers to overturn the final rankings but it is also the opportunity to detach by a few meters the one who has remained glued to the wheel for five stages!! Even though the route is unique, the start of the race still takes place at separate times and there are always two grids, MedioGiro and GranGiro.
THE ROUTE: You start from the hotel and cross the center of Budoni at a controlled speed continuing on the SS 125 up to Posada; you turn for Torpè and go along the coast of Lake Posada before tackling the final climb! It is the road taken downhill in the second stage: essentially the climb is divided into three sectors: the first of about 3,500 km is the hardest and most demanding (it almost always goes up to 13%!) followed by seven much more manageable km (the percentage drops to a single figure!) and finally, once you reach S. Anna, there is the last flat kilometer.
Each cyclist, upon arrival, receives the participation medallion and can sign the “Final Sheet”.
Then there is the refreshment point and then you go down NOT IN THE RACE, finally enjoying the beauty of the views of the north-east of Sardinia (the road was taken uphill in the second stage … but then no one will have looked at the splendid scenery!) reaching the hotels in just over 20 km pedaled in a relaxed manner.
In the hotel you can eat your meal and close your bags. At 3:00 pm in the “Andrea Parodi” Theater in Budoni there will be the final awards ceremony of the GiroSardegna.
Final prizes: special prizes for the first three in the Overall classification of the GranGiro (Men and Women); prizes for the first three classified in each category (leader’s jersey + free/discounts on the registration for the GiroSardegna 2026 race).
There will be draws for substantial prizes, among which the most coveted are invitations to the GiroSardegna 2026.
