The “GranGiro” is one of the two race routes (MedioGiro and GranGiro).
Those registered for the GranGiro compete on the Red Route: these are stages of greater difficulty and with a greater distance.
The sum of the times of the individual stages will give rise to the Overall classification and the Category classifications.
To remain in the general classifications (overall and category) cyclists must complete their route every day: those who DO NOT reach the finish line in a stage (or those who do a different route in a stage than the one they are registered for) are removed from the general classifications. In the following days they will still be able to start, but from then on they will only participate in the stage classification and no longer in the General Classifications.
Those who register must have a sports card that allows them to participate in cycling races; the card can be Italian or foreign but must be valid for the year 2025. Those who do not have one can ask to join the Organization’s sports group by sending an appropriate medical certificate.
